Metra Group has achieved success in establishing connections between a diverse range of partners, resellers, and vendors across nine countries, enabling seamless interactions across the value chain. With an evolving portfolio of IT products, services, and technical expertise, Metra Group is dedicated to delivering a distinct standard of value-added service across the Middle East and Africa. Currently, Metra has a strong and growing presence in Egypt, UAE and KSA. Building on this success, we have solid plans to expand vertically and horizontally by growing our product portfolio with existing

and new vendors as well as penetrating new and emerging markets in the MENA region. Simultaneously, Metra is growing its ecommerce reach through its Bizzmo platform.

History

Metra Group embarked on its international expansion journey by entering the Saudi Arabian market in 1991. Subsequently, the company established its presence in the USA in 1993 and Dubai in 1998. These ventures presented major challenges that ultimately fueled the group’s growth and success. During its second decade, Metra Group experienced solid growth, marked by strategic partnerships with industry giants like Acer, Dell, HP, IBM, and Intel. These collaborations propelled the company’s expansion into Qatar, Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, and Iraq. As Metra Group entered its third decade of operation, it forged alliances with additional technology providers, including Cisco, Oracle, and Zyxel. This further enhanced the company’s presence across the region. With the fifth decade underway, Metra Group continues its steady progress and expansion.

Tarek Eissa - Founder and CEO

The mastermind behind all that we are today, Tarek’s expert vision, perseverance, and ingenuity have been his strongest attributes. He graduated from Cairo University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Engineering in 1982, and started his own IT distribution business within the same year. That same company kept growing as his vision widened and his team expanded, becoming the Metra Group we all know today.

Tarek’s quest to expand Metra Group enabled him to establish strong connections and distribution deals with the world’s top IT brands, such as HP, Microsoft, Samsung, Intel, Acer, Dell, Creative, Cisco, Gigabyte, and Western Digital. With an employee count in the 500s and a solid presence in the USA, GCC, and MENA regions, Metra Group has nowhere to go but upwards with Tarek at its peak.

Mohamed Eissa - Managing Director for the Gulf region and Chief Financial Officer

Metra Group’s presence in Dubai, and subsequently the entire UAE, would not have been what it is without the strategic mindset of its Gulf Managing Director, Mohamed Eissa. Having obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science with the highest honors from the University of Illinois, Mohamed’s journey to his current place of power took him on quite the path. His stint as Product Engineer with Cypress Semiconductor prior to joining Metra taught him a great deal about the inner workings of a proper tech company.

A chief board member and key mind within the company, Mohamed oversees operations in the UAE, GCC, Africa, and Egypt. With his managerial, technical, financial, and visionary skills, Metra Group’s path towards continued success is all but assured.

Mohamed Amer - Managing Director for KSA

The leading mind behind Metra Group’s presence and growth in Saudi Arabia, Mohamed’s 15 years of experience in the IT field have taken him on a professional journey filled with varied skills and knowledge. Gaining his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1996, Mohamed quickly co-founded and managed his own web development firm, eventually becoming CEO of FAB Communications in 1999.

He then became Content Manager at Nile Online in 2002, eventually becoming its Marketing Director. Not soon after, he was offered the position as Intel’s Marketing Development Manager for Egypt, the Levant, and North Africa in 2005, eventually rising to the rank of Reseller Channel Manager in 2006, and finally becoming Intel’s Country Manager in the Levant and North Africa before he joined forces with Metra Group. A journey such as this says many things, but to Metra Group, it means nothing but skill and success.
